Pablo Ariel Bursztyn, Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He continued his grandparents theatrical pathway.

His first performing steps on stage date from 1983 on Teatro Abierto, an Argentine theatre festival that opposes the military dictatorship, where he developed an interest, not only in theatre as an artistic language, but also in its political and social aspects.

Very young, Pablo embarks on a cultural and artistic investigation that sustained him for the last 35 years of his life, living and traveling in Europe. He has explored and followed the paths of the most prominent trends in the performing arts. Investigating physical theater in the 1980s in Sweden, where he had the opportunity to work with the Nya Mime Ensemble and the award-winning Jordcirkus, The Kronobergsteatern among others.

Without losing his interest in the social function of the theater and its essence, he followed a path that led him to study with renowned artists and theatrical researchers such as Ariane Mnouchkine (Paris), the Theater de Complicite (London) DV8 members and finally meet the prestigious teacher theater Philippe Gaullier, with whom he studied and later became, at his school, one of his main teachers until 2001.

Furthermore he encountered, studied and/or worked with Keith Johnstone, Marwin Yxner, Clown Dimitri, Annabel Arden, Mick Barnfather, Lilo Baur, Monika Pagneux, Ida kelarova, Bob Alexander among others.

Pablo moves to Switzerland, where his interest in dramaturgy and writing led him to found a theater company in the city of Locarno, the "Teatro Della Memoria Attiva" (2003-2012), which would later become Kodachrome Theater (2012-).

Teatro della Memoria Attiva was a company based in Ticino - Switzerland. The company's poetics was based on the conviction that we have a past rich in oral traditions and that memory is the basis for a more humane and supportive future that is not nourished by a purely nostalgic, or simply testimonial, memory, but rather by a conscious action in our present through fantasy and creativity. Bursztyn's work then focuses on contemporary theatrical narratives presenting to the Festival Internazionale di teatro di Arzo (CH) the works "68 Giri in Kodachrome" and "Terra Bruciata" of which he is also the author, obtaining a warm response from critics and the public placing the company among the most interesting in the ticines theater scene.

He divulges Argentine theater in Switzerland, adapting it to European realities and bringing authors such as Griselda Gambaro and Carlos Gorostiza to Helvetian stages.

The Kodachrome Theater examines the points of contact between the theater in relation to new media. The Kodachrome Theater's primary focus is on the human aspect of social issues and commitment to our time. In 2009 he met the Swiss visual artist Andreas Gysin, who turned his attention to the use of visual and digital art as an instrument of a theatrical event and with whom he conducted an artistic research that culminated in the performance of three shows. A children show “C'era due volte una nonna ”(2009) written and directed by Bursztyn, a show that has been translated and performed in French language. "Terra Bruciata" (2010)opening at the Teatro Sociale di Bellinzona and the staging of a circus show for the circus Starlight in collaboration with the Cuban National Circus (2010).

The synergy between narrative, visual arts and photography has always been a point of interest for Pablo Ariel Bursztyn. This emphasis led him to Zurich, where he began collaborations with various artists such as Bertold Stallmach and Robi Voigt with whom he brings to the scene “Time Stands Still” of the Pulitzer Prize Donald Margulies (2017). With the support of several foundations and cantons in Switzerland.

In 2019 he was co-produced by CCMatienzo in Buenos Aires for developing the research “Si es para mi no estoy” Developing the use of projected images as a subject on stage and investigating how those images interact with performers on stage opening a new chapter in his research.

Up to date he has acted and/or directed more than 20 shows. For more than 30 years he teaches acting, improvisation, physical theatre, and has developed a theatre pedagogy that has taken him to teach in Germany, Sweden, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Austria, Israel, Canada and Argentina.

Su última aparición cinematografica es en "Argentina 1985" dirigída por Santiago Mitre y galardonada entre otros premios con el Golden Globe, Premio Goya y nominada a los premios Oscar.

En 2022, Pablo dirige el espectáculo teatral "NOTHING TO HIDE" Premio Banco Ciudad - CTBA (Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires) elejido para el Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires FIBA.
